trapped

…trapped… in a prison of her own making… she feels the barriers, the walls, the boundaries… she can’t see them, but she can feel them – the invisible force holding her inside – playing her life in a loop that never ends – making the same mistakes, the same choices, the same people… they may have a different face or name or colour or meaning, but under their outer layer, they are the same…

…the invisible bars that lock her inside – inside her own repeating existence – inside her own mind thinking the same thoughts – inside her own body… the bars are invisible but powerful – as powerful as her own mind – as powerful as the one thing that can stop her world – her mind… the invisible bars that only she can see and only she can feel… the invisible bars that only she puts there – and only she can take down…

…the power of the bars – restricting – constricting – makes her feel helpless… the power of the bars is immense – the strongest power she’s felt… the power of the bars is controlling – disenchanting – draining… the power of the bars is as strong as she is… despite her struggling, her straining, her screaming, she cannot break free… not yet…

the trap in her own mind of her own making is the most powerful force she’s reckoned with – the most powerful opponent in this life – and she’s the only one who can defeat the trap… through simple acceptance that this is the trap she made for herself, she can set herself free… by acknowledging the power of her own mind in maintaining the trap, she can set herself free… by being stronger than her fears, she can set herself free… by being true to herself, she can set herself free… by being honest with herself, she can set herself free…

still, it takes time… or it doesn’t… the time is now – the time has come – the time is ripe…

she screams.

she cries.

she breaks free.

now what?

  1. Yep – it can always be scary to break free from the rut/place you are in. The fear of what’s on the other side can inhibit but there is also the sentiment that you are only happy in that prism and being there is safe…
